This fencing can be installed by the homeowner without requiring a contractor. Each 12-foot long section of the fence stands 4 feet tall, in line with the recommended height set by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, to enhance the safety of your backyard pool area for children.
Beyond concrete and substantial surfaces, the Pool Fence DIY can be installed into various ground materials, including pavers, sand, crushed stone, wood decks, dirt, rock gardens, and other loose surfaces. The fence's industrial-strength construction utilizes Textilene PVC-coated nylon mesh, rated to withstand 387 pounds per square inch. The UV-resistant mesh ensures years of reliable performance in all weather conditions. The included stainless steel pins are easily inserted into the supplied sleeves after installation, exceeding most local safety requirements. When not needed, the fence can be removed.
To determine the required fencing for your pool area, measure around the edge and leave 24 to 36 inches of space for walking and cleaning. Divide the total footage by 12 to calculate the correct number of 12-foot sections needed. During installation, the poles will be spaced 36 inches apart.
Each package includes a 4-foot high by 12-foot long section of mesh pool fence, with five integrated 1/2-inch stainless steel poles, deck sleeves/caps, a safety latch, and a template (gate sold separately). Installation requires a rotary hammer drill with a standard 5/8-inch by 14-inch (minimum) masonry bit, which is not included. However, the optional Pool Fence DIY Drill Guide (sold separately) can simplify the drilling process for proper in-ground installation.
